the lcp method is a way of persecuting the weakest and most vulnerable of our society.My 83 year old, coherent, painfree mother has just been finished off at Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield by this method. It was callous and inhumane to see, we were not even consulted.

To watch your sister aged 59yrs be wiped out by the LCP in a hospital in the city she was born (liverpool) it makes me feel so ashamed that i stood by and allowed this situation to happen !!! i pray that people will now unite and stop this abuse of the ill and vunerable.I ask the question what is the difference between LCP and DR HAROLD SHIPMAN ?????nobody has the right to play god !! Prof Patrick Pullicino, who is condemning the Liverpool Care Pathway, practices at the very same Trust responsible for my partner's untimely, and now proven erroneous death. Without any diagnosis and certainly not terminally ill she was just 63 years young who entered the Kent, UK, hospital for a day surgery biopsy. As opposed to returning home with me that day the surgeon told me that she suffered post-op respiratory arrest, an emergency Tracheostomy was performed and she was sedated in ICU. Four days later she was transferred to a nursing ward and received numerous opiates resulting in death 3 weeks later. Not until I requested all medical notes, which the Trust took 4 months to forward, did I become aware of the surreptitious use of a Morphine syringe and an undated DNAR notice.
